Talking Romance with Jenna Goss at Most Romantic Resort in Phoenix Arizona
Royal Palms Resort and Spa is known far and wide as one of the most romantic resorts anywhere.
Gearing up for the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday at the popular Phoenix resort, we connected with Guest Relations Manager - and resident "romance consultant" - Jenna Goss to get a behind-the-scenes look at her role at Royal Palms, how she plays a critical role on the Guest Relations team and her unique perspective on tailoring romance-themed experiences to each and every guest.
1. Tell us about your job:
It's my job to ensure every guest's expectations are not only met, but exceeded. I address all requests and desires to make their travel experience as flawless as possible. This can be from securing a favorite food or snack item to meticulously recreating a couple's wedding bouquet to be placed in a room upon arrival.
2. Some of the most unusual or unique guest requests you’ve received?
One of the most memorable would have to be a couple, who arranged to have a private firework show above the resort during an anniversary, wanted "their song" to begin playing the very second the first firework lit the sky. This particular detail was a challenge as the fireworks were being launched from an secondary location, across property from the couple's location. It took some creative maneuvering (and comfortable running shoes), but we did it. Perfectly.
3. Some of the most popular special requests?
Without a doubt, romantic enhancements to our guestrooms. Rose petal turndowns, drawn bubble baths, champagne and chocolates and private outdoor dining experiences are always at the top of guest's romance lists.
4. What makes Royal Palms Resort ideal for romantic getaways?
Our intimacy and ensuring every guest feels completely at home. Without that comfort guest wouldn’t be as willing to inquire about specific items and ideas they may have, they know we are here for them.
5. What advice would you give to travelers looking to plan a romantic getaway at Royal Palms?
I believe to plan a truly romantic getaway you should reference the past, and look to the future. Plan activities that remind you of time spent together, but also what's new and exciting. I assisted a couple with planning a romantic hot air balloon ride, something they have always wanted to experience together, and when they landed, a bottle of the same champagne that was served at their wedding was waiting for them. Extra care was given to ensure both their past and future will never be forgotten.
