Experience the World's First Global Instrument Museum in Phoenix
Host your next meeting at Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona and take advantage of the beautiful Musical Instrument Museum for an off property group event!
The Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in northern Phoenix, Arizona is the world's first global instrument museum. The MIM welcomes the uninitiated and the knowledgeable to explore and experience the rich diversity of the world's music and musical instruments. Featuring a collection of musical instruments from around 200 countries and territories, guests will enjoy a close encounter with instruments enhanced by state-of-the-art audio and video.

Approximately 20 minutes from Royal Palms Resort and Spa, the MIM offers guided group tours seven days a week for anywhere from 10 to 120 guests. The nearly 300 exhibits are spaced to provide comfortable viewing. Groups will also experience:
- Upon arrival, guests are offered Guideport headsets to allow them to experience audio to accompany each exhibit. Wireless "hot spots" throughout the museum which immerse guests into the sounds of musical instruments through loops of streamed music. At each exhibit, you will hear the instrument being played, either solo or as an ensemble.
- Because of the user-friendly headset technology, self-guided tours are also an option at the MIM. This is a great offering for the reception portion of an event and encourages guests to socialize while touring the museum and learning interesting facts.
- High-resolution videos throughout the museum allow guests to view instrument performance on flat screen televisions. Your guests will be transported to different countries of the world to view a Japanese taiko drummer or a hurdy-gurdy man.
- A fun enhancement for your group can be a scavenger hunt throughout the museum. This interactive activity begins with a professional emcee briefing guests and distributing a one page activity sheet. Guests will have the opportunity to learn interesting facts about instruments and music history while viewing many of the unique items displayed at the MIM. This can be organized as an individual or group challenge. An example of a task on the hunt would be to identify what instruments composed a specific song. Players may encounter road blocks throughout the hunt with fun interactive versions of "Name that Tune" or a task to create a "crafty musical instrument." Once the sheet is completed, guests turn it in for a raffle ticket that they can then exchange for a themed prize. Guests will enjoy the easy, friendly competition and receive mementos from a glorious night at a one-of-a-kind museum!
The MIM offers dining and event space that can harmonize with any occasion. Versatile space offers stylish architecture, a comfortable setting, and the perfect blend of creativity and functionality for a variety of events.

The adventure at the MIM is just one of the many offerings available when you hold your overnight group getaway at the classic Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix / Scottsdale, AZ. For more information, call Royal Palms directly at 602.808.3126!
