Dive Into a Watsu Massage!
Alvadora Spa's special Watsu massage is available for only $99 for the month of February! "What is Watsu?" you may ask...well we'd be happy to tell you!
Watsu is excellent for all ages and body types. In the neutral environment of skin temperature warm water, the body is blissfully weightless and free. It is extremely calming for the nervous system and because the ears are under the surface of the water, it is a very quiet, inward experience. People who are normally stiff, achy and even in chronic pain on land can find pain-free movements during Watsu sessions. Land deep tissue techniques can be modified in different ways in the water, and many people find they can relax more into deeper pressures because the warm water helps them relax and completely let go. Some people feel like it is an otherworldly experience, akin to floating on a cloud or returning to the womb. Many people experience deep restful sleep after sessions. Additions not typically found in a normal Watsu session can include evening candelight sessions, aromatherapy elements, and incorporation of vibrational sound harmonics via Tibetan singing bowls and vocal toning, offered in the spirit of gratitude.
Evan Smith is our newest therapist at Alvadora Spa and he has extensive training in Watsu aquatic massage. He studied under the creator of the form, Harold Dull, at the birthplace of Watsu – Harbin Hot Springs, California. He maintains a private massage and Watsu practice in Central Oregon and also works at the Royal Palms’ sister property, Sunriver Resort.
For the month of February, Alvadora Spa is offering 60-minute Watsu massages at a discounted price of $99 – in celebration of Arizona’s 99th birthday this month! Visit Alvadora Spa online for more information or call 602.977.6400 to schedule your Watsu appointment.
